Thor by the 18th-century sculptor B. F. Fogelberg In Norse mythology, Thor was the god of thunder, and thus the god of might and war. The son of Odin, he had a magical hammer named Mjollnir that returned to him, a belt of strength, and iron gloves. His chariot was pulled by two goats—Tanngrisni ('gap-tooth' ) and Tanngnost ('tooth grinder').
