Odysseus Kills Suitors
Légende
According to Greek tradition, Penelope was the wife of Odysseus, king of Ithaca. Odysseus spent 10 years fighting against the Trojans (Trojan War said to have been around 1184 B.C.) and then another 10 years trying to get back home. In this 1883 illustration, Odysseus has reached Ithaca, and is shown killing the suitors who have made his palace their home while trying to win the hand of his wife, Penelope.
