Stonewall Jackson

Thomas Jonathan Jackson, known as Stonewall Jackson, (1824-1863) was a Confederate general. This picture was taken in a photographer's tent at Hamilton Crossing, three miles south of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Jackson was mortally wounded two weeks later at the Battle of Chancerlorsville, Virginia (May 2-4, 1862).
