Shown here is an early mode of transportation in the United States - the Conestoga Wagon. The Conestoga wagon was a sturdy wagon that was covered. It could carry nearly 12,000 pounds of goods and was built to prevent shifting of those goods on bumpy roads and travel through difficult terrain such as water.
