This drawing is from The Life of Charles Dickens by John Forster, Vol II (1842-1852). It shows a calling card left by M. Bathelemy. Forster wrote, 'His name is Bathelemy. He wears a prodigious Spanish cloak, a slouched hat, an immense beard, and long black hair.' The writing on the card he left said: Rue de Corcelles Bathelemy 49. This was during Dickens' 1845/1846 trip to Paris and France.
