This image shows Boabdil, the last Moor of Granada, surrendering his possessions to Ferdinand and Isabella, a painting by F Pradilla. Boadil (also spelled Boabdil) (died 1538) was the last Moorish king of Granada (in present-day Spain). He ruled from 1482 to 1492, when he defeated by Ferdinand V and Isabella, who were known as the Catholic monarchs. The two were rulers of Castille and Leon from 1474-1504.  Ferdinand was also king oif Aragon, Sicily, and Naples. The two completed the reconquest of Spain from the Moors. After his defeat, Boadil  fled to Morroco. In this illustration, Boadil is shown surrendering to Isabella and Ferdinand. Francisco Pradilla Ortiz (1848-1921) was a prolific Spanish painter famous for creating historical scenes.
