Edward Eggleston (1837-1902) was an American historian and novelist. He was also a Methodist minister. Among his works are:  The Hoosier Schoolmaster, The Hoosier Schoolboy, The End of the World, The Faith Doctor, and Queer Stories for Boys and Girls. He also wrote A History of the United States and Its People. His home in Lake George in New York was called Owl's Nest.
