This photo shows the south front of temple of Isis at Philae during the inundation period, the time of year when the Nile annually overflowed it banks - before the building of the Aswan Dam. Construction on the temple began around 280 B.C. The photo was taken by the Italian archaoelogist Guiseppe Fiorelli in the 1800s.
