This portrait of Barnabe Brisson was done by Thomas de Leu. Brisson was a French jurist and politician. He lived from 1531 to 1591. During the Wars of Religion—the Protestant Reformation—he became the president of the Parlement, installed by the League (known as the Catholic League and the Holy League).
