Friedrich von Schiller

Friedrich von Schiller (1759-1805) was a German poet, philosopher, historian, and playwright. He was a good friend of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. He was part of the Sturm und Drang movement, as well as the Weimar Classicism. Among his best known works are William Tell, Mary Stuart, The Robbers, and The Wallenstein Trilogy. This bust of Schiller is by Johann Heinrich Dannecker (1794) and is in the Museum of Fine Art in Stuttgart, Germany.
