Turnus was the king of the Rutuli and leader of the Latins. He and his allies fought the chief enemy of Aeneas once he was in Italy. Turnus was opposed to the foreigners settling in Latium. Galaesus was a peaceful and just man who is killed in the early clash between the Trojans and Latins after Aeneas' son Ascanius kills the king's prize stag. Almo the oldest of the sons of the shepherd Tyrrhus. He was killed with an arrow in a clash between the Trojans and Latins. Turnus, distraught at their deaths, asks his men and allies to fight the Trojans and send them away.
