Amos Judd is a novel written in 1895 by J.A. Mitchell (1845-1918). It takes place against a background of civil war in northern India. The seven-year-old rajah is smuggled out by three faithful followers - two Hindus and one American. The boy was brought to a Connecticut farmhouse and given the name Amos Judd. As he grew up, he had the amazing ability to foresee events. The caption accompanying this illustration in the novel: He is the image of you. Molly and Amos find the book in the old cherry-wood desk. They come to a page showing the head and shoulders of a bejewelled prince who looks just like Amos.
