Amos Judd is a novel written in 1895 by J.A. Mitchell (1845-1918). It takes place against a background of civil war in northern India. The seven-year-old rajah is smuggled out by three faithful followers - two Hindus and one American. The boy was brought to a Connecticut farmhouse and given the name Amos Judd. As he grew up, he had the amazing ability to foresee events. The caption accompanying this illustration in the novel: The end has come, my Moll. Amos is shot - he struggles and Molly wants to get help, but Amos knows the end is near and says he has known this is how it would end all along.
