Phillips Brooks (1835-1893) was an American Episcopalian clergyman. He served as a preacher at Trinity Church in Boston Massachusetts from 1869 to 1891 and was very influential in the community at large. In 1891, he became the Episcopalian bishop of Massachusetts. He wrote the well known hymn ""O Little Town of Bethlehem."" This image is from the small book Pansies by Phillips Brooks  and dates to around 1908.
