This 1930s postcard shows the approach to Williamsburg Bridge in New York City. The bridge is a suspension bridge across the East River, connecting the lower East Side of Manhattan at Delancey Street with the Williamsburg neighborhood at Brooklyn. The bridge opened in 1903. At the time it was the longest suspension bridge span in the world.
